"The History of CENTURY 21 Williams Realty"

On June 8, 1941, Colonel Lovett informed Congressman Vinson that the Wellston site (now Warner Robins) would be selected for a military base if the area could provide assurance by the 14th that 2,000 units would be built to house the influx of workers. On the 13th, guarantees were delivered to Washington for 3,000 units.

The site was approved the next day. School officials were informed that 1,000 new students would be attending school in September with the opening of Robins Air Force Base.

Charles Williams, a teacher, left the school system and landed in the real estate business. He was a pioneer of sorts, selling real estate that literally sprung suddenly from the ground. When the state started issuing real estate licenses, Williams was the second in line.

The end of the war brought the end of the boom, Williams, on the other hand, gambled that the lull was opportunity in disguise. He bought as many properties "as the banks would allow me to buy", says Williams. He won the gamble. 1949 brought the 14th Air Force to the Base and war was again in the cards a year later with Korea. Property values in Warner Robins have been going up ever since.

In April 2004, Donald & Scott Free purchased the company and relocated it to 1240 South Houston Lake Road in Warner Robins. Donald Free's experience in growing successful real estate companies has resulted in a rejuvenation of CENTURY 21 William's Realty business plan; with a goal of attracting outstanding sales associates and providing them with the environment, the tools, training and leadership to reach their potential; CENTURY 21 Williams Realty is poised to become a leader in the Middle Georgia area.
